Chapter 9: Seven Weeks on the Island

Greetings from Bray, County Wicklow! We hope this update finds you well. Beth and I have been here 7 weeks tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who has prayed, reached out with a phone call or text and given to us financially. It is much appreciated! We've been encouraged by so many.

Beth began her orientation at Mater Private Hospital 2 weeks ago. Everything seems to be going well so far. Until the end of the year her schedule will be 7am-3pm, M-F. It's a bit tough in the morning as she has to be up very early in order to catch the train into city center, but she gets home by 4 everyday, so we have our nights and weekends together. Beth is working in post anesthesia which is what she did in Knoxville. There are going to be some differences, but it's great that she has been doing this type of nursing for a few years.

My day to day is keeping up with our two year old, energetic, joyful, daughter. Saoirse is doing great and has settled into our new way of living. We have braved train rides and walks through town with trips to the store. I don't know what is more crazy...the fact that Beth and I moved to Ireland or that we have a 2 year old daughter after raising 3 kids who are now in their twenties. Maybe it's all of the above!

As I've mentioned, we are currently living in Bray, County Wicklow. Our lease is only until January so we've been looking for a new apartment and our landlord has been gracious to let us leave early if we find something more permanant. We may have found an apartment in a town slightly north of Bray called Shankill. We are praying that God will lead us in the right direction.

So far, I've led worship for a community of believers in Dungarvin, County Waterford. The people there are great. I had a great time with their leadership and Dungarvin is a beautiful town. I've also had an opportunity to lead worship for the ICEJ chapter here in Ireland. For those not familiar, the ICEJ (International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem) is an evangelical organization supporting Israel. Here in Ireland the ICEJ is located in Bray and the leaders go to Cornerstone Church where Beth and I attend. They asked me to lead worship for their monthly meeting and it was a great time of worship and teaching. I also had the privelage of playing piano for our home church today. There are a few opportunities coming up soon...I'll keep everyone posted.

Once again, thank you to all who have communicated with us and/or given to us. You are all part of our story and we are truly grateful.

Blessings,

Aaron, Beth and Saoirse.
