Chapter 15...We're Moving!

It’s just been little over a year since we moved to Dublin, Ireland…and now we’re moving again!  During a trip to Ireland back in 2019 God made it very clear (long story) that at some point we would live in County Kerry which is in the southwest part of the nation.  We did not know God’s timing but we knew we would live there eventually.  A few weeks ago Beth contacted the University Hospital in Tralee.  They responded rather quickly and before we knew it, Beth was offered a position in their Emergency department.  We took this as clear confirmation since there is currently a hiring freeze in Ireland’s healthcare system! While Beth will be working in Tralee we will be living in the nearby town of Killorglin.

I’ve had a few conversations over the years with people concerning County Kerry that would suggest not many people want to labor there. One gentlemen, after I told him we wanted to live in Kerry asked “Why would you want to do that?” However, Beth and I really feel this is where God wants us.  We have some wonderful relationships with people who have laboured in Kerry for a long time.  Michael and Ninfa Robson pastor Living Rock Church in Killarney and there is also a wonderful group of believers in Dingle Town hosted by Maureen MacEvilly.  While there are definitely people labouring in this area of Ireland we still feel more labororers are needed.

There are a few desires and burdens we have for Kerry but we don’t want to go into specifics just yet as we need to seek God and hear His voice for this next season.  Suffice to say the burden for the people of Kerry is real and tangible.  God loves Kerry and we want to be a part of what God is already doing in this area of Ireland.

With this shift comes expenses and I’ll be honest…I’m really not good at asking for financial assistance but we would be very grateful if you would consider giving toward the expenses of this transition.

We did not expect to be moving so quickly but God has opened this door and we know it’s time.  Since we are moving to County Kerry it's time we bought a vehicle so any help in this area would be very appreciated.

We are very excited for this opportunity but it brings a bit of sadness as well because we have made some great friendships this past year.  This year would have been very difficult without the wonderful people God put in our lives.  It’s only been a year but we feel we’ve had these friendships much longer.  We want to thank Pastor Kyle and Cornerstone Church in Bray for just being wonderful, awesome people!  It was our visit to Cornerstone in 2023 that really encouraged us to take the step needed to move here.  Kyle Holland is a true hero of mine.  He has endured and persevered over many years to be a light in this nation.  He’s also not afraid to jump in the cold Irish Sea!  Even though we are moving, the great thing about Ireland is that it’s a small nation and we can easily go back and visit our friends.  If you ever visit Ireland and just want to feel loved…visit Cornerstone!

We will keep you posted on this season of transition and once again just want to thank everyone for your prayers, giving and encouraging messages.  Below is a link to a song by Jason Upton called "The Farmer and the Field". Kerry is a rural county and I pray for Kerry while listening to this song. If you want to join us in praying for this area of the world, this song is a good one to listen to. Grace and Peace!
