Greetings!

Beth and I wanted to send out a “special edition” update.  I apologize upfront for its length but we wanted to share how God has been leading us the past few months and some of the doors we have walked through recently.

Below is a list of what I call “God moments” that led up to our move to Ireland and some that have happened since we’ve been here.

Moment #1: The Unseen Realm

Seven years ago Beth and I felt God was calling us to Ireland.  At that time, I never would have imagined some of the things He would be asking us to put our strength and energy towards.  A few years ago I was watching a documentary called the “Unseen Realm”.  It’s based on the book written by Michael Heiser.  The documentary is a teaching on the spirit realm.  Books and teachings on this subject can get weird but this one was very solid in my opinion.  One night after watching this documentary (for the 500th time…ha!) I asked the Lord to show me the “unseen realm” over Ireland.  That night I had a dream.  In my dream I saw a satellite image of Ireland.  Then I saw the year 1294 appear over the satellite image.  It was a very quick dream but I knew it was from the Lord.  The next day I Googled the year 1294.  Very little is documented in that year but I did find something very disturbing.  In that year, the residents of a town in Switzerland expelled all of the Jewish people who lived there.  So basically I prayed for the Lord to show me the “unseen realm” over Ireland and he answered my prayer with a dream revealing that the same spirit that influenced the people of Switzerland in 1294, influences many people (especially the government) in Ireland today.  The apostle Paul said in Ephesians 6:12 —For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  God was revealing through this dream some of the forces over the nation of Ireland.  Just to bring some of this in perspective:

In May 1945, in the full knowledge of the Holocaust, the Irish Government was unique among the nations in offering condolences to the German people on the death of Hitler.

Moment #2: Ruth’s Standard

A few months before we moved to Ireland I was watching a kids cartoon with my daughter Saoirse based on the story of Ruth.  While watching it I realized that I didn’t know the story very well.  That night as I opened my bible to the book of Ruth I felt the Lord say He wanted to show me something within the story.  I read the entire story that night (it’s not long) but nothing in particular stood out.  The very next day I was reading a book called “Flee to the Mountains” by Christopher Mantei.  I hadn’t even read one page when my eyes fell upon these words:

“If you intend to be among the genuine lovers of Israel you’d better settle it right now, before the storm.  Here’s your biblical requirement and standard laid out as no other in the whole of Scripture.  2500 years ago a Moabitess named Ruth made this remarkable statement to a Jewess named Naomi, a statement which the Jew will need to hear and see demonstrated by the Church in that day when the Jew will need her the most”.

I about fell out my chair.  He was talking about Ruth!

What were Ruth’s words to Naomi?

Ruth 1:16b

16… “Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay.

Your people will be my people and your God my God.

So what does all of this mean?  Why would God give us the above mentioned dream and then months later highlight the life of Ruth?  Beth and I believe one of the main reasons God called us to Ireland is to teach people in this nation that God still loves His covenant people and they are still the apple of His eye.  Israel has not been replaced by the church and He will fulfill all He's promised. So, how are we to accomplish this?  God made a way…

Moment #3:  ICEJ OPPORTUNITY

Beth and I belong to Cornerstone church in Bray.  This is where we met Paul and Pamela Coulter.  They just “happen to be” the directors for the Irish branch of the ICEJ (International Christian Embassy of Jersuleum).  The ICEJ is a Christian organization supporting the Jewish people all over the world.  Considering the things the Lord had shown us we believe volunteering our time with the ICEJ is a great opportunity to follow God’s leading concerning Ireland and the Jewish people.

Over the past few months Paul and Pamela have invited me to lead worship and speak at the monthly ICEJ meetings.  A few weeks ago we attended the annual conference where over 200 people gathered from all around Ireland to show their support for the Jewish people.  Beth and I have begun a discussion with Paul and Pamela on how we can engage the younger generation.  This is where we will be giving our time and energy.  If we are to see any change in Ireland we must reach the younger generations.

Recent events

In conclusion I thought I would share with you 2 recent events that happened since we moved to Ireland.

  1. Back in December the Israeli Embassy closed its doors in Dublin due to the anti-Israel policies of the Irish government. As of right now there is no Israeli embassy in Ireland. This is sad and unfortunate. https://www.timesofisrael.com/israel-to-close-embassy-in-dublin-due-to-irelands-extreme-anti-israel-policy/

  2. In January there was an event held in Dublin to remember the Jews killed during the holocuast. Unfortunately the President of Ireland decided to politicize the memorial that led to a few Jews in attendance to stand silently in protest. One woman was dragged out by security. A Jewish woman was dragged out of a Holocaust memorial service! https://www.thejc.com/news/world/i-fear-for-the-future-of-my-children-here-says-jewish-protester-dragged-out-of-irish-shoah-event-qs0rdfgy

We’ve shared all of this with you to see if you would consider supporting us financially for 1 year. Beth is working as a full time nurse in Dublin, but we still need to raise some support in order to offset monthly expenses. The Dublin area is very expensive but we have to live here for the next two years due to Beth’s contract with the hospital.  Along with a few other ministry opportunities we would like to be able to devote our time and energy to helping the ICEJ "for such a time as this". If you cannot give to us financially we completely understand.

If you would like more information please don’t hesitate to reach out to Beth

and I.  We would love to answer any questions you may have.  This is not the only ministry focus we will have, but as mentioned above, this is a particular focus that we wanted to share with you.  You can contact us through Facebook Messenger, email, or you can text us directly.
